Amd DURON HOPING TO OVERCLOCK THAT DURON??
Many people have successfully overclocked their durons. These chips are the best cpus for the money and I love them!!

The first thing you need to do is buy a good socket a motherboard. I recommend the Abit KT7A-RAID. It is my personal motherboard of choice. Asus A7VA's ain't too shabby, either. Try using this search engine for more help...

Voltage and other BIOS settings.
I have found that almost all Durons overclock equally high. 1.85V core is recommended for anything 950mhz and higher. I have gotten this to work up to 1073mhz stable. The most stable settings for the duron are 100-161mhz bus speeds. Higher than this becomes unstable in my testing. As you reach higher speeds, check the CPU temp in the BIOS regularly and add better cooling if necessary.

Abit KT7-RAID Must-haves for overclocking...
There are several things you absolutely must have if you want to get some high speeds.

1)Good memory*
2)Good, high-powered power supply.(at least 250w)
3)Unlocked chip**
4)Good cooling
5)Good motherboard

*Mushkin RAM is best.

**There is one other thing you must do that I haven't mentioned. You must unlock your cpu. I know how to do it, but I am not very good at describing the process. You can you the altavista serch engine above to find help easily.
